Notes

Hello fellow modding enthusiasts - this is my first real modding and my second attempt with custom watercooling.

I named the project "Hippocampus" - after the part of the brain that resembles a sea horse - and as things go beyond when you get stress. To make a project like this was meant as something to cool me of from stress -  and it worked - kind of ... fairly ...

It all started in June 2014 - when I decided to build a PC that could render movies to my YouTube
channel which I am in the process of starting up.

With a long history as a PC enthusiast - it should be the best of the best. So I had to live on water porridge until the project was completed. It was expensive - but at least I got something to eat all the time ....

No doubt that the costs far exceeded my original budget. I ended up on the wrong side of 7K USD. - And then I dont even count the "spare parts" that Im left with.

The focal point of the project was the case (Corsair 900D) - motherboard (ASUS originally HERO VII which I had to change the Gigabyte Z97X Gaming G1 Wifi-BK Black Edition as it should be able to support 3 graphics cards or more). - Additionally an i7-4970K CPU. Graphics cards were EVGA GTX780 Hydro Copper - partly because it was the best (I know TI, classified, etc.) - at the time - and partly because I liked the way they were "wrapped" with the Swiftech covers - in relation to other ways you could water cool a graphics card.

One thing you realize as a beginner in modding ::: meassure, meassure and meassure again - rather than the way I did - "meassure - cut ... and do it all over again" I spent 3.5 m2 acrylic..! There are 1 floor and 3 walls. The floor was ok the first time - the others I used 4 attempts - of each! -

But now I am enjoying the sight of the finished project - and I'm not afraid to say that I am proud of the result. :) Looking forward to start the next one.
