Notes

I wanted this to be a system that was fast, quiet and stable - not too bleeding edge. I think I have in here pretty much everything that I wanted. And yes, there is a lot of EVGA product here: X99 Classified, SuperNOVA 850 G2, GTX 1070 FTW and a TORQ X10 carbon to top it off. At least I should never have to worry about vendors points fingers at each other!

About a year after the initial build, Margaux got a major case and cooling upgrade. I moved the system into a Lian-Li PC09-WRX case and swapped the cooling for a Swiftech H320 X2 Prestige. This chassis features a two-compartment design, with the drives and power supply in the solid aluminum side, and the mobo, vooler and video on the glass side. I now have red LED on strips around the case, on the video card and on the cooler radiator and pump and red dye in the fluid.

For now, my pictures are rather crap, as I am finding it tough to show the case and contents without picking up annoying reflections or glare. Once I get my PowerLink and clean up the cable runs a little more, I'll try again for better pics.

I have pulled my pair of GTX 760 FTW cards and replaced them with a single GTX 1070 FTW. With the GTX 760 FTW SL setup, my old benchmark scores were: 3DMark Fire Strike: 10,341 3DMark 11: 15,533 3DMark Vantage: 24,628

My Viewsonic 28" panel died, so I ended up replacing with the Acer B286HK 28" panel. It is a 4K panel and will push that at 60 Hz so long as you use the display port connector. I have not been able to push the OC on the GPUs very far at all. Only 25 MHz with PrecisionX 16. However, I was able to get the mem offset up to 500. The system has been stable over the past month and I figure the thermal grease has completed its "burn in" time and should be fully effective by now. Nevertheless, i do get concerned about the CPU Socket temperature which seems to always be about 10 degrees higher than the cores.
