Notes

Update 4-19-16:
System is on a fresh install of Win10 x64 Pro.  Still looking at watercooling.  Now looking at an Alphacool Nexxxos kit from Modmymods since they don't carry XSPC and I'm not touching Frozencpu ever again.

Update 10-31-14:
Decided to run Win 8.1 Pro on it after going back to 7 for a few days.  CPU is also OC out of the box to 4.4 with everything else auto in the Asus BIOS settings and RAM set to XMP modes for now.  It looks like (via reports from the Intel Extreme Tuning tool) that the BIOS is automatically using Adaptive voltage and runs it at 1.18 when at 4.4Ghz.  Speedstep and turbo are running and it will clock down when idle but runs at 4.4 with all cores loaded

Looking more into custom watercooling and probably going with an XSPC Raystorm EX360 Extreme kit when money is good.  Decided it would be ridiculous to run an all in one since the motherboard does already have a waterblock on the VRM.  I plan to leave the 780 air cooled since the ACX cooler is really good and the HAF-X has the airflow for it.

Initial build info:
Rebuilt my old rig with a new motherboard, RAM, cpu, and video card.  Planning to run Win7 Pro on it after testing an upgrade copy of Win8 upgraded to 8.1.

Future plans are SSD and a USB DAC + headphone amp for music listening.  Also need to upgrade the headphones as the Sennheisers are flaking off the earpad coverings.  Will be upgrading to Beyer DT880's and using a separate mic for voice comms use in games.

Also planning on setting up watercooling at some point.  Unsure if will do an all-in-one just for the CPU or build it myself so I can include the air/water hybrid heatsink on the motherboard's VRM section.
