Notes

This is my first build. I purchased a computer in 2008 from a builder on Ebay. And about two months later one of my 9800 gx2 GPU'S died. I contacted EVGA and learned that since I wasn't the original purchaser of the card there was no warranty. And also I wasn't aware that they had to be registered within the first 30 days. And things went down hill from there. I started having all kinds of problems. So I decided I would tackle a complete new build with minimal knowledge. I thought what I don't know I can learn from forums like EVGA. So I bought the component's for my build. I bought the ASUS Rampage III Extreme motherboard, Kingston HyperX 24GB (6 x 4GB) 240-Pin SDRAM DDR3 1600, Intel Core i7-980X Extreme Edition Gulftown 3.33GHz Six-Core Processor, Four OCZ Agility 2 2.5" 60GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid State Drive's. That I have in raid 0, One 1TB Internal Hard Drive for storage, SILVERSTONE ST1500 1500W ATX 12V 2.3 & EPS 12V SLI Ready 80 PLUS SILVER Certified Power Supply, Two radeon 4870's GPU's witch I recently changed out to three EVGA GeForce GTX 580 FTW Hydro Copper's, For sound card I got the Sound Blaster X-FI Fatality, For DVDS I got one LG WH10LS30 10X Blu-ray Burner and one LG Blu-ray writer reader, For cooling I have the Zalman Reserator XT. Fluid goes out of the Reserator XT to a Koolance PMP-400 High-flow additional Pump then through EK-Multioption RES X2 - 400 Advanced reservoir to the top card then out the bottom card and back to the Reserator XT. My GPU's typically stay about one degree apart. Idel temp right now is at 27C ambient temp is at 26C. For CPU cooling I have the Corsair Hydro H70 High Performance Dual-Fan Liquid CPU Cooler. Well after putting everything together and plugging in the power supply I was never more nervous in my life My hand was shaking. Then I pushed the power button and to my surprise it booted into the bios. What a rush! I am a retired carpenter I also ride paint and work on Harley's.

The Reserator is very quiet and cools my three cards really well. I haven't seen my temps over 45C even while gaming. But I have to say that by adding another pump and the res has dropped my temps about 5 degrees.

Nice stuff. We need to help you with your cable management though. I'd love to hear your impression of the reserator.
