Notes

This is my old X58 Classified (Part Number: 141-BL-E759-A1) systems last rodeo.

I built her back in 2009 when the GTX285 FTW was the hottest thing. She held the top single gpu scoring system on the EVGA Forums for about 3 weeks.

Since then she's seen the world change a bit, including the abuse of my two girls. So I decided to give her a facelift and she if she might have a shot at a mod rig award.

I7-920 (45nm quad core) was upgraded to an I7-970 (First Intel hex core, 32nm)

I have had her running on air with a 24/7 4.0 Ghz OC for over 2 years, no issues. She can go higher, but I don't like high temps, and I love all features being turned on, such as hyper threading and Vdroop.

Ram has been upgraded from 12 gigs to 24 gigs, maxing out the board.

The 4 internal 640 gig WD Black hard drives in raid 0 were replaced with a single 500 gig Samsung 850 SSD. (Old drives store my stuff and are still in the system.)

Installed EVGA USB 3.0 host card. (Part Number: 100-U3-EU30-TR)

Installed a SATA 3.0 card in the 3rd PCIE slot to run the SSD faster.

All new fans all the way around. (Hey, they do need replacing every 5 or so years.)

Upgraded from a Corsair 1000HX PSU to the EVGA SuperNOVA 1600W T2 PSU. (Part Number: 220-T2-1600-X1)

I am now running two GTX 980 Ti (Part Number: 06G-P4-4991-KR) w/backplates in SLI with the EVGA PRO-SLI bridge. (Part Number: 100-3W-0032-LR)

And last but not least, I modified my side door, removing the original screen like mesh and cutting myself a clear chunk of Plexiglas from home depot to replace it.

My bench marks are real world scores, as in I have all of my software installed and running while running it, Norton 360, Steam, GOG, etc.

8284 Fire Strike Ultra 1.1 http://www.3dmark.com/fs/5430925

So, after 7 years, I guess I can finally say that she is maxed out and done.

Thank you for your consideration. :)
