Notes

Stealth 2001 was my high end system from 2001, it was when I bought it an Intel Pentium4 1700Mhz Willamette on the early Socket 423 platform, it's motherboard is also the first Pentium4 motherboard to have ever hit the market, it uses the reliable and rock solid Intel i850 Chipset and uses PC-800 Rambus RIMM memory to function.

This P4 was becuse I mainly used to play Quake III Arena and other games that used the id Tech 3 engine, games like Return To Castle Wolfenstein, Star Wars X-Wing Alliance, Call of Duty + United Offensive 1.5, Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Outcast & Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy.

When I built it back in 2001, it came was given a Gainward GeForce3 AGP 64MB Golden Sample + ViVo, the ViVo part was built on a Daughter Board with a ViVo Chip from Philips Semiconducters. This was the best performing and most complete GeForce3 on the market.

Later in 2002 I upgraded this system with a Leadtek GeForce4 Ti-4600, which they named Leadtek WinFast A250 Ultra TD AGP 128MB DDR. And that is what I gave this renovation to make it complete just like it was, the only difference is that this system has an Intel Pentium4 2000Mhz in it, as I bought this CPU back in 2006 off ebay for a steal of just 5 USD incl free shipping from Hong Kong to The Netherlands. The CPU I bought this system with I still have which was a Pentium4 1700Mhz CPU.

And nowadays When I am in that Quake III Arena mood this PC is surely going to be used for just that job 8)

Many thanks for the +1 Zophar, yer this build brings back a lot of memories and yet the Intel i850 chipset sill runs so solid and stable as if it were like new :)

Yeah this one uses WinXP Pro + SP2 USA even though the Athlon Thunderbird 1400B was faster than the P2 2.00Ghz in almost every game, all due to the much higher FPU, the only good thing the P4 excelled at was games based on idtech3 aka Quake III engine & the Fusion Engine which Descent3 was made with :)

Pentium4 in 2001 - cutting edge! my build at that time was a p3 1GHZ and i remember that being awesome! I also remember playing Descent on my mac G3 with a Voodoo card and it was super smooth on my crt. What OS are you running on this? XP? Nice job keeping these older systems up and running!

Well to be honest the Netburst Pentium4 was only good for two things and that was playing Quake III Arena & Descent 3 and nothing else xD Reall every other game it was beaten by the AMD Athlon Thunderbird 1400Mhz with SDRAM and motherboards based on the VIA Apollo KT133A Chipsets. The Athlons were much faster per Mhz and had a much greater floating point Unit speed than the P4's even a P3 @ 1400mhz was mostly faster than a P4 @ 2000 to 2253Mhz rofl. But when it came to Q3A & D3, P4 Netburst with PC-800 Rambus memory was the way to go, what I do like about the Intel i850 is that this chipset is dead stable and very robust, it will never give up on you, So yeah it's not that bad but there were much faster options back in the day that were lots cheaper AMD Athlon Thunderbird was tat option.

I'd have killed to have this system in 2001.. I was still using a Packard Bell 200Mhz Pentium with MMX technology then.. I was so furious at how poorly it played games. +1'd

You gotta admit though you do have some of the most interesting (and old) systems here. I mean, they are amazing!
